The countdown is on for the 21st edition of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games, with host school Bukedea Comprehensive eagerly anticipating the arrival of over 4000 participants.
As the excitement builds, preparations are in full swing for the prestigious sporting event. Medard Twikirize, the school’s games teacher, expressed the thrill of hosting such a large-scale competition.
“As the hosting school its a joy to host these games, we are warmly in waiting for our visitors, come and enjoy the our area,” Twikirize said.
With regards to the game venues, Twikirize confirmed that all facilities are in top shape. “We are ready to host the opening ceremony,” he stated. “The playing fields and swimming pool are in excellent condition.”
While Bukedea Comprehensive will be making its debut at the FEASSA Games, the school has high hopes for its football team.
Despite being drawn into a challenging group that includes defending champions St Joseph’s Boys Kitale (Kenya), Benjamin Mkapa (Tanzania), and fellow Ugandan powerhouse St Mary’s Kitende, Twikirize remains optimistic. “We’ve been placed in a tough group, but we believe in our team’s ability to compete at this level,” he said.
The FEASSA Games promise to be a thrilling event, showcasing the best young sporting talent from across East Africa. Bukedea Comprehensive is ready to take center stage as both host and competitor.
