FUFA Women Super League reigning champions Kampala Queens made 8 signings before the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers however, they failed to sign some players that they were interested in.

Makerere University WFC captain Josephine Ndagire was one of the most needed players by Kampala Queens FC, but the current league holders failed to get her signature.

It was reported that Kampala Queens FC offered Makerere 15 Million shillings to sign the workaholic midfielder Josephine Ndagire in a deal that was going to make her the most expensive female footballer in Uganda.

Ndagire accepted to join the Queens of Soccer after agreeing on terms and everything but only Kampala Queens failed to pay the 15 Million shillings and Ndagire stayed at Makerere.

According to our reliable sources, Kampala Queens FC was willing to pay 15 million shillings which tempted the player to accept the deal but after accepting, Kampala Queens turned down the offer and that’s how the player ended up staying at her club.

It is believed that many staff members were against the idea of their bosses paying such a huge amount that it could have raised the player’s market value unnecessarily.

The transfer window is still open and it remains unpredictable whether Kampala Queens will attempt the second time to pay big money to sign Josephine Ndagire.

The hard-tackling defensive midfielder is currently in the camp with the Crested Cranes squad that’s preparing for a doubleheader against Algeria in the 2024 WAFCON Qualifiers.
