The Lady Cranes management has named a 12-person squad for Krakow, Poland later this month.

Unity Namulala and Gertrude Kateesa return for the Lady Cranes for the first time since running out in the Safari 7s victory in November last year. The two ladies replace Racheal Mufuwa and Lorna Sandra Amoli.

The reigning Safari 7s champions find themselves in Pool B alongside Argentina, Paraguay, and Papua New Guinea.

“These twelve will ably represent the country and they have been working so hard to get to this point,” said a proud Coach Charles Onen during the squad naming ceremony.

The Lady Cranes are currently in third place on the HSBC Challenger Series log, on 28 points (tied with Belgium; Belgium ahead on points difference) and chasing a spot for the final qualification showdown in Madrid from 31st May to 2nd June.

They have to make sure to perform better than Kenya Lionesses and Poland lurking closely behind (5th on 24 points and 6th on 22 points respectively).
