With hours left, the much anticipated Plascon Painted Buganda Masaza Cup Final approaches this Saturday, November 1, at the refurbished Hamz Stadium in Kampala, one name is receiving widespread praise, Kansai Plascon.
With Ssingo and Buwekula set to battle for Buganda’s most prestigious football crown before a likely full house, excitement is at fever pitch.
But beyond the rivalry, Plascon’s unwavering support has united fans, players and officials in gratitude.
Since its inception in 2004, the Buganda Masaza Cup has grown into a vibrant football spectacle, thanks largely to committed sponsors.
Among them, Plascon has stood out, adding new color and energy to the competition’s journey.
Plascon’s involvement began in February 2023 when the company sponsored Buddu FC ahead of the 2022 final.
That partnership soon expanded, making Plascon a key tournament co-sponsor from the 2023 season onward, an investment that has transformed the event’s organization and visibility.
Masaza Cup Organizing Committee Chairperson Sulaiman Ssejengo described Plascon’s role as “nothing short of transformative.”

“Plascon is one of our sponsors who have done a lot to help this competition reach this level,” Ssejengo said.
“Their support covers referee payments, player jerseys, and other costs. Without them, fans would be paying much more. We’re truly grateful.”
Organizing Committee vice chairman, Festus Kirumira also praised Plascon for improving both the technical and administrative sides of the tournament.
“When we say the competition has progressed, we credit sponsors like Plascon,” Kirumira noted.
“They’ve invested not only in the Masaza Cup but also in Buganda Kingdom projects, just look at Bulange, now beautifully painted with Plascon products. We thank them for their continued support.”
The appreciation extends to the touchline and the pitch. Ssingo head coach Bashir ‘Bastu’ Ssemuyaba saluted Plascon and other sponsors for keeping local football alive.
“We players and coaches can only thrive when sponsors like Plascon come through,” Ssemuyaba said.
“They make the game possible and colorful. I urge them to continue supporting this tournament.”
Ssingo captain Shaban Kayongo echoed the sentiment, saying:
“We thank the Kingdom of Buganda and sponsors especially Plascon for organizing this tournament. As players, we are very happy and grateful.”
As the final draws near, Ssingo returning to the final after seven years will be chasing a third Masaza Cup title under Ssemuyaba and assistant Hussein Mbalangu.
Their opponents, Buweekula, led by Felix Ssekabuza and Davis Nnono, will be hunting for their first-ever crown.
Before the grand showdown, Kyaggwe and Bugerere, last year’s finalists, will clash in the third-place playoff to warm up the fans for a football-filled afternoon.
