In a dominant display at the Dar Gymkhana Ground, Ghana posted a competitive total of 133/3 in their 20 overs, largely thanks to a well-constructed half-century by Richmond Baaleri who scored 51 off 55 balls.

Peter Ananya (18 off 14) and Frank Baaleri (14 off 8) provided valuable contributions, ensuring a strong finish for Ghana.

In response, Lesotho struggled to gain momentum, with only Sajid Patel offering resistance with a gritty 42 off 44 balls. The rest of the lineup crumbled under the pressure of Ghana’s disciplined bowling attack, led by Emmanuel Frimpong (3-4) and Godfred Baikweyem (3-21).

Waseem Yaqoob and Lebona Leokaoke made key breakthroughs for Lesotho with the ball but couldn’t turn the tide.

Malawi Beats Mali by 9 Wickets

Malawi continued their unbeaten run in the tournament, easily chasing down a modest total set by Mali. Batting first, Mali struggled throughout their innings, managing just 43/10 in 17 overs, with the top-scorer being skipper Yacouba Konate (11 off 20 balls) and Theodore Macalou (9 off 33 balls).

Despite their best efforts, Mali’s batting woes continued, as they have yet to find their first win in the tournament.

Suhail Zahid Vayani led Malawi’s bowling charge, picking up 4-8 in 4 overs, while Mike Chaomba added 3-6. Suhail Zahid Vayani, who was also part of the Malawi squad during the ICC U19 Africa Qualifier Division 2, has transitioned smoothly into the senior squad, displaying maturity and skill.

In reply, Malawi chased down the target in just 3.1 overs, scoring 44/1, with Donnex Kansonkho hitting a blistering 24 off 9 balls to lead the chase.

Tanzania Triumphs Over Cameroon by 9 Wickets

Tanzania delivered yet another dominant performance as they bowled out Cameroon for just 37 runs in 12.1 overs at the Dar Gymkhana Ground.

Despite efforts from Abdoulaye Nono Aminou (11 off 11 balls) and Alexis Balla (6 off 18 balls), the Cameroonian batting lineup had no answers for Tanzania’s bowling attack, led by Laksh Bakrania (4-6 in 2.1 overs) and Harsheed Chohan (2-4 in 2 overs).

A no-look hit for a Six by Tanzania’s Mohamed Kitunda

Laksh Bakrania, captain of the Tanzania U19 squad that won the ICC U19 Africa Qualifier Division 2, has seamlessly transitioned into the senior team, showcasing his leadership and bowling prowess earning himself the Player of the Match award. Under the leadership of Abhik Patwa, Tanzania continues to show dominance in the tournament.

Chasing the small target, Tanzania reached 38/1 in just 3 overs. Mohamed Omary Kitunda scored 13 off 6 balls, while Abhik Patwa and Zafar Khan contributed 12 each, completing a convincing 9-wicket victory.
