From winning the Futsal Super League title to joining Express FC, defender Affi Kitanda opens up on his dream and aspirations of playing in Uganda Premier League.
“Joining Express FC is a dream come true. It is my childhood club that I have always dreamt of playing for,” he said upon joining the Red Eagles.
When asked about his targets at Express FC, Kitanda didn’t hesistate but dream of winning big.
“I am here to win trophies because Express is a big team. I will work hard to improve my abilities and become a better defender to achieve more in the future,” he bravery said.
The hardworking defender also opened up on the importance of playing Futsal before joining big clubs.
“Futsal has helped me to think and decide fast and with doing it for the past four years with Park FC, I have managed to develop my ablities in situations like 1V1 and 1V2 and I’m now ready for the Uganda Premier League.”
Many Ugandan top players have played Futsal like former Uganda Cranes and KCCA FC playmaker Sulaiman Mutyaba, Saidi Mayanja (KCCA FC), Ivan Irinimbabazi (Pierikos, Greece), and Travis Mutyaba (Zamalek, Egypt) among others.
Kitanda who won Futsal Super League with Park FC in 2021, will now fight for a starting place at Express FC.
The towering defender hasn’t played any game for the Wankulukuku based side ever since he joined them in the January transfer window.
Express FC lost the Kampala derby 3-4 to KCCA FC on Saturday at Wankulukuku stadium and currently sit in 8th position with 25 points collected in 17 games.
