Isbat University, the new entrants in the Pepsi University Football League (UFL), have warned their opponents ahead of their opening game against Bishop Stuart University today at 3 PM, in Mbarara.
The head coach of Isbat University, Aumba Edwin, said that they are confident of reaching the quarterfinals or even further in their maiden edition of the tournament.
“It will be our first time to play in this championship, but with the experience I have, I have noticed that all players in Uganda can perform well, the only difference is how they apply the tactics on the pitch,” Aumba said.
“Despite being our first time, we are much confident that we will win as many games as possible, starting with today’s game and we will reach the quarterfinals this edition. And I believe that we have good players and enough squad to achieve the goal.”
The team captain of Isbat, Geofrey Opilo, is also optimistic about his team’s chances of winning the game.
“We have played quite a couple of friendly games both home and away and the results have been positive. We will carry the same motive to Mbarara today and win the game,” Opilo said.
“We are aware that the opponents will work hard to win the game, however we will try to avoid conceding and concentrate on the tactics and the game plan. I believe we will work with all the effort and win the day.”
Friday will see more Pepsi University League Football as Kabale take on UNIK in Kabale.
