  • KCCA FC Vs Mbarara City – 3:00pm

Ahead of the Uganda Cup round of 32 game where KCCA FC shall host Mbarara City at Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Sunday, February 22.

Co-Head Coach Jackson Magera has singled out consciousness as a key factor in the game, despite taking on a struggling side, Mbarara City.

“In this case of one-off games, form may not matter, but you have to handle these games consciously, and we have been preparing ourselves for moments like this, and we will work consciously as our only way to go through this round.”

The joint most successful team in the Uganda Cup, with 10 cups, will have to be without Derrick Nsibambi, while Sammy Ssebaduka and Herbert Achai are expected to be available after assessment.

Going into the knockout fixture, Mbarara City continues to struggle with just three wins in 17 league games, though even KCCA FC just ended their struggle of late with a 2-1 win over Bul FC in the last game. Mbarara City lost to Entebbe UPPC 1-0.

Earlier, in the last games, KCCA had gone two straight losses and just one win in their previous five league games, matching Mbarara City.

Both sides last met in the Stanbic Uganda Cup in 2023 when KCCA FC eliminated Mbarara City 2-1 as they progressed to the Quarterfinals.

In both teams’ last meetings, KCCA FC won against Mbarara 2-1, while tracking their recent five meetings, KCCA FC has three wins, and Mbarara City has two.
