International University of East Africa (IUEA) will look to register their first victory of the University Football League season when they host Nkumba University on Tuesday in Lukuli, Makindye.
IUEA have only managed to pick up a point from their first two games, and coach Hassan Wasswa has attributed this to their failure to take their chances.
“It’s about us adding that final third (quality) to our game plan to make sure that the good play that we have leads to a goal.”
“I felt we have had good possession with good build up through the midfield but converting those chances is what is failing us,” Wasswa said.
“We found ourselves in really good positions, but just couldn’t quite get the output that we wanted, which St. Lawrence certainly did. So that’s something that we have been working on all week long,” Wasswa added.
Nkumba University, on the other hand, are coming off a 4-0 victory over Gulu University, and coach Bbosa Suleiman wants his side to build on that momentum.
“For me, it’s very important to see where my players are mentally. If you want to win or want to go far in a tournament, you need a very, very strong spirit,” Bbosa said.
“We also need to increase our speed to ease penetration and kill off the game as early as possible,” Bbossa added.
The match is expected to be a close one, as both teams are evenly matched. IUEA will be looking to get their first win on the board, while Nkumba will be looking to build on their previous victory.
