A Legacy of Success

Kiplimo has been a consistent force in the world of athletics. In March 2024, he defended his World Cross Country Championships title in Belgrade, Serbia, becoming only the fourth man in history to win back-to-back titles.

Earlier that year, he claimed victory in the Valencia 10k road race, further showcasing his prowess on the roads.

His achievements in previous years are just as impressive. The two-time Olympian clinched 10,000m bronze at the 2022 World Championships before securing a historic 5000m-10,000m gold-medal double at the Commonwealth Games later that year.

Not to be forgotten, Kiplimo made his Olympic debut at just 15 years old during the Rio 2016 Games, becoming Uganda’s youngest Olympian.

Fierce Competition at London 2025

Kiplimo’s marathon debut will see him competing against some of the best marathoners in the world, including two Olympic champions in Sifan Hassan, Tamirat Tola and Alexander Mutiso who will want to defend their TCS London Marathon title.

The London Marathon, renowned for its challenging course and competitive field, promises to be a fitting stage for Kiplimo to test his mettle at the full marathon distance.

This opportunity comes on the heels of a stellar 2024 season, where Kiplimo was among the five nominees for the World Athletics Out-of-Stadium Athlete of the Year award.

His accomplishments across various terrains and distances have positioned him as a formidable contender in any race he enters.

Uganda’s Pride
