Uganda Gazelle Forward Jane Asinde was named to the CUSA Pre-Season All-Conference Team, announced on last week on Thursday.
Jane Asinde plays for the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) after a couple of seasons with Wichita State University Shockers.
Asinde started 53 of 60 appearances, played almost 1700 minutes, tallied 52 blocks and snatched 106 steals in her two years as a Shocker.


She was a Third-Team All-Conference selection last season and led the team in points and rebounds per game, averaging nearly a double-double (13.1 ppg, 9.8 rpg).
She posted 11 double-doubles and scored in double figures in 21 games, including eight with 20 or more points.
Asinde dropped a near 30-point double-double against Tulsa (season-best 27 points, 12 rebounds, 02/15/23) and grabbed a season-high 19 rebounds against Montana (11/25/22).

During the 2022-23 season, Asinde was named on the All-Conference third team. She led the Shockers in points (13.1), rebounds (9.8), blocks (26), and field goal percentage (49.2 %) and ranked second in steals with 59.
In July, Jane was selected for the GLOBAL JAM, a 5-on-5 Under-23 basketball tournament featuring women’s and men’s teams from around the world.
