Jinja SS and Nyakasura School Stay Unbeaten in Sky View Boys Schools Cricket Week

Jinja SS and Nyakasura School won their respective games on Day three of the Sky View Boys Schools Cricket Week to remain two of the three sides yet to taste defeat in the competition.

The Mighty School beat Masaka SS by 83 runs to make it three in three while Nyakasura saw off both Kololo SS and debutants St. Joseph’s College, Layibi.

Nyakasura captained by Cricket Cranes spinner Joseph Baguma overcame Kololo by 32 runs, and ran over Layibi by 128 runs in the afternoon game.

Christopher Kidega scored a half century of 62, but it was not enough to save his Kololo side against Baguma’s team.

Kidega however, returned his team to winning ways, knocking 162 as Kololo crushed Good Heart by 267 runs.

The national U19 all-rounder notched 18 fours and 13 sixes and spared some time to pick three wickets. His fellow teammate at the U19 team, Aziz Tandia plucked 4 wickets against Good Heart.

Speaking of wickets, St. John’s High School duo of Cymprous Igulu and Jackson Asiku each picked five wickets as St. John’s beat Lords Meade by 7 wickets in a low scoring game that saw the latter set the target at 22/10.

Lords Meade and Good Heart remain the only two sides yet to earn a win in this tournament. The two are in Group B and have lost each of their four games.

Afternoon results

Nyakasura lead that group with maximum points.

In Group A, Jinja SS lead the standings with 6 points. Busoga College Mwiri, the other side yet to lose a game are second with four. They however have played a game less than Jinja SS.

The bottom team in this group is Teso College Aloet, who had to beat Delhi Public School International by 1 wicket in the afternoon to secure their first victory.
