Match Day 4 of the Boys Schools Cricket Week was a mixture of joy and heartbreak for some schools, as the “men” were separated from boys.

In Group A, Jinja SS took top honors with an unbeaten record winning all their group games with a hammering of Ntare School in their final group game. Magezi Ronald (110) scored the third century of the tournament as Jinja SS finished on a high ahead of the super sixes.

The battle for second place in Group A was a 3-way battle with Teso College Aloet ahead of St Joseph’s College Layibi and St John’s SS Mukono. St Joseph’s College Layibi was impressive on the 1st two days of the tournament but the last two days have let them slip down the table and a loss to St John’s SS Mukono in the afternoon was a fatal blow that knocked them out of qualifying for the Super 6s.

The win wasn’t enough for St John’s SS Mukono as they missed out on the Super Six by 0.1 to Teso Collee Aloet. Heartbreak for St John’s SS Mukono and St Joseph’s College Layibi but joy for Teso College Aloet.

In Group B, Nyakasura finished top of the group unbeaten, they haven’t had a lot of convincing totals but they have made sure they take care of their business and go through.

Shree Sahajand who has played some of the best cricket missed out on a Super Six place after losing to Gulu High School, in a game in which they were favorites they lost their way against a team that had nothing to lose. Delhi Public came from behind to sneak into the Super Six which rubbed more salt in the Shree Sahajand wound because they had beaten them in a fierce rivalry.

In Group C, Busoga College Mwiri won the group unbeaten, and Ndejje SS was put to the sword by the record winners with Gerald Olipa (122) scoring his second century of the tournament. Aga Khan took the second spot in the group.

The top two sides from each group qualify for the Super Six and will form 2 groups from which they proceed to the semifinals and finals.

The rest of the sides drop into the plate event, where they will form four groups with a semifinal and final.
