JKL Dolphins held the nerve to survive a late scare as they beat Ndejje University Angels 66-63 in the National Basketball League on Wednesday.
JKL made an impressive start to the game and led 22-12 after the opening quarter.
They continued the dominance and by the end of the third quarter, they were up by a 19-point difference.
That was before Ndejje started to mount a fightback and opened a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter.
Ndejje University nearly forced overtime at the death, but Johnathan Oketch missed the all-important three-pointer. He had scored five threes prior.
For the JKL Dolphins, in a winning effort, Denis Tom Omara put up a game-high 22 points and eight rebounds for their third win of the season.
Meanwhile, three Ndejje players had double figures including Oketch who had 15 points, Joseph Kumbai (12), and Haron Alinaitwe with 11.
Ndejje has now failed to master a win in each of the past four games and they now stand at 2-4 in the season.
