John Paul Dembe signs for Sweden’s BK Hacken from KCCA

KCCA FC and Bollklubben Häcken reached an agreement for the transfer of youngster John Paul Dembe to the Swedish-based professional football club.

Dembe was earlier this year promoted to the senior KCCA from their reserve and signed five contract till 2028 before being sent out on a six months loan to the Swedish professional side Bollklubben Häcken, more commonly known as BK Häcken, where he scored ten goals in eight games in the Swedish U19 Allsvenskan.

Dembe made his long-awaited senior debut for BK Hacken in the Europa League against Molde on November 9th, 2023, coming off the bench in the 87th minute to mark his first senior appearance for the Swedish champions.

Dembe, 18, also played KCCA U20 side during the Cambiasso U20 International Tournament in Daresalam, Tanzania, in July 2022 which the Lugogo side won.

He also featured for Uganda Hippos in the 2023 AFCON U20 finals in Egypt. The forward scored in the opening game for Uganda against the Central African Republic in Group B at the Suez Canal Stadium in a 2-1 victory for the Hippos.

He joins a growing list of KCCA FC Soccer Academy graduates that have moved into the professional ranks, like Sadat Anaku, Allan Enyou, Musa Ramathan, Steven Sserwadda, and Allan Okello.
