The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) marked its centennial anniversary on October 4, 2024, with a resounding celebration attended by government officials and sports leaders. The event took place at Maya Nature Resort.

Joseph Olinga, the Assistant General Secretary of the Uganda National Council of Sports (UNCS), delivered a congratulatory message on behalf of the council. Olinga praised FUFA’s exemplary governance, accountability, and achievements over the past century.

“FUFA stands out as the best sports body in Uganda,” Olinga declared, highlighting the federation’s significant contributions to the nation’s sports development.

The NCS has been a key supporter of FUFA, providing substantial financial assistance. In recent years, the council has allocated 17 billion Ugandan shillings to FUFA, contributing significantly to its over 40 billion shillings budget.

Also in attendance was Sammy Odong, the Assistant Commissioner of Education and Sports, from the Mininstry of Education and Sports.
