National Basketball League | Men | Friday
- JT Jaguars 84-62 Sommet BC
JT Jaguars put on a show Friday night, beating Sommet 84-62 in a National Basketball League clash at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
After a slow start and trailing 21-13 at the end of the first quarter, Ian Lubwama’s turnaround jumper kept the Jaguars in the game. In the second quarter, Mark Were’s two three-pointers helped them edge ahead 39-37 by halftime.
From there, the Jaguars took control. Their quick ball movement and tight defense wore Sommet down, stretching the lead to 61-52 by the third. George Agasi’s late lay-up sealed the 22-point win.
Agasi led with 23 points, followed by Lubwama with 20 and Aaron John Eboyu with 15. Their balanced offense and team effort proved too much for Sommet.
Sommet had four players score in double figures, Mark Ngobi (14), Peter Cheng (13), John Focus Teko (12), and Mohammed Mulisho (10) but couldn’t match the Jaguars’ rhythm in the second half.
Coach Sudi Ulanga’s side looked confident and in sync as they build playoff momentum. For Sommet and Coach Albert Aciko, it was a tough night and a reminder of the level required to compete at the top.
