Young golfers from across the country will take center stage on Sunday, 14 December 2025, as Uganda Golf Club hosts this year’s Junior Golf Championships, a key event nurturing the next generation of golfers.

Held under the theme Championing the Future of Golf in Uganda, the championship continues to offer boys and girls a chance to compete in a well organized environment that prepares them for bigger stages both locally and internationally.

The tournament is open to players aged four to 18, with competitive 18–hole categories for handicapped juniors, plus Gross and Nett divisions for both boys and girls.

Younger golfers will take part in 3, 6 and 9–hole categories, along with fun skill challenges designed to spark interest and build confidence in beginners.

There’s also a youth division for players aged 19 to 35, excluding national team members, with separate prizes for men and ladies.

Play will follow R&A and Uganda Golf Club rules, with course setup adjusted according to age and ability.

Check–in begins at 7:30 am. The 18–hole category tees off at 8:30 am, the shorter categories follow from 10:00 am, and skill tests begin at 11:00 am. Scoring will be done at 3:30 pm, followed by prize giving at 4:30 pm.

Registration is open at Uganda Golf Club until Wednesday, 10 December, or through the online form. Participation costs UGX 20,000 per player.

Competitors must observe proper etiquette and dress in collared shirts with tailored shorts or trousers. Players are encouraged to bring their own equipment.

Prizes will be awarded across all age groups and categories, from the top 18–hole players to those in development stages.

Skill tests will also be recognized, further encouraging all–round growth and passion for the sport.
