- Masindi Painters (4)1-1(5) Kabale Painters.
The sixth edition of the Kansai Plascon Painters football tournament has come to an end with Kabale Painters emerging champions of the edition that had 32 teams.
In the final that was played at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo War Memorial on Saturday, March 28, Kabale Painters defeated Masindi Painters on penalties 5-4 following a 1-1 draw in normal play.
Concluding the tournament that was played across painters from different parts of Uganda, Kansai Plascon’s Head of Sales Moses Kato noted:
“This is one of the activities that Plascon carries out with painters who are one of our major channel partners. We are more known for skilling painters through painter training programs and also supporting their development through their co-operatives or circles.
Other than that, we are also keen on their recreation as well as talent development. That’s why we have this tournament played all over the country until this final stage where we have two teams. It has been a successful tournament; many talents have been identified, and we shall keep supporting painters with talent to further their talents, as you all know that Plascon is one of the major brands that supports many sports disciplines.”
Prizes including jerseys, match balls, facilitations for entire tournaments, and cash prizes were issued out for teams at different stages, with top scorers and other individual best performers also making the prize list.
