Kabale University coach Farouk Nsubuga is confident that his team can make it to the knockout stage of the Pepsi University Football League, despite sitting third in Group A with four points after four games.
The university will need to win all of its remaining games and hope that Uganda Martyrs University and Bugema University drop points in order to qualify.
“We have our backs against the wall, but we still have a chance of making it to the next round, and there’s no option now. We have to go and do the business and bring our best.”
“I am pretty confident we can get the ball rolling starting on Wednesday,” Nsubuga said.
“We need to be clear on our game plan and have the confidence to execute it on the day,” Nsubuga added.
Kabale University will face University of Kisubi (Unik) on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the Entebbe Campus Sports Grounds.
Unik coach Jesse Lukoki has promised to give Kabale University a good run for their money.
“I hope that my players keep their feet on the ground. Having picked up a point against Uganda Martyrs I know the Kabale team will be on a high,” Lukoki said.
Elsewhere in the Pepsi University Football League, MUBS settled for a goalless draw with Victoria University in the Tuesday encounter played at Nakawa.
The result saw MUBS remain top in Group B with ten points while Islamic University in Uganda is second with 6 points. YMCA are third with four points while Victoria is bottom with two points.
