Teen sensation Sylvia Kabene stole the show at Centenary Stadium on Thursday night, scoring twice as Hibernians FC thrashed Birkirkara FC 4–1 in the Maltese Women’s League.
From the start, Kabene’s pace and control tore through Birkirkara’s defense. Her first goal came in the 23rd minute, a burst of speed and a calm finish past the advancing keeper that drew loud cheers from the stands.
Hibernians dominated possession and looked dangerous throughout, with Kabene at the center of every move. Her persistence paid off again in the 78th minute, combining neatly with a teammate before slotting in her second of the night.
It was a complete performance quick, confident, and clinical further cementing Kabene’s growing reputation as one of the league’s brightest young stars.
The win lifted Hibernians to second place on 15 points, three behind leaders Mgarr United, while Kabene’s brace put her within two goals of the league’s top scorer.
