- FUFA Women’s Cup | Quarterfinal
- Kampala Queens 2-3 St Noa Girls
With a performance fit for a queen, but starring a St. Noa princess, Slyvia Kabene delivered a stunning hat trick to eliminate Kampala Queens from the 2025 FUFA Women’s Cup in a thrilling 3-2 quarterfinal showdown on Sunday.
The teenage forward, already riding high after being named MVP in St. Noa Girls FC’s FUFA Women Elite League triumph just days earlier, once again proved unstoppable.
Kabene struck in the 22nd minute to give her side an early lead, and despite a strong response from the Queens of Soccer, she remained the difference-maker.
Kampala Queens equalized almost immediately through a Shamirah Nalugya penalty and took a 2-1 lead into halftime after Zaina Nandede slotted home a composed finish. But after the break, it was the Kabene show.
With unrelenting pace and poise, Kabene leveled the score in the 57th minute and then, just four minutes later, struck the winner, her third of the evening to silence the home crowd and propel St. Noa into the semifinals.
Despite a spirited late push from Kampala Queens, the determined visitors held firm to preserve their lead and knock out the reigning FUFA Women Super League champions, dashing their hopes of a domestic double.
The result secures St. Noa’s place in the final four, joining She Corporate FC, though their semifinal fate remains partially uncertain as Kawempe Muslim’s petition against She Corporate still awaits FUFA’s verdict.
