Emerging force in Kiboga District Football League, Kajjere FC, fought with resilience to beat Kiboga Black Bullets 3-2 on the road to Kiboga Ssaza ground over Valentine’s weekend.
Kajjere United led the game 2-0 at halftime through goals scored by Alex Kalyesubula in the 29th minute of the game and Vincent Kikomeko, who scored two minutes later.
Towards the hour mark, the home team pulled a goal back through Hamid Kato to make the score 2-1, but visitors Kajjere United immediately responded by extending their lead to 3-1 through Isaac Kyoyita.
With Kajjere United thinking they had the game won, Kiboga Black Bullets refused to go down easily when Abdu Kakinda grabbed their second goal of the day to make it 3-2.
With Kiboga Black Bullets determined and Kajjere United playing with resilience for the remaining 26 minutes, in the end, they managed to bag maximum points.
The weekend was full of drama as the top two teams, before the weekend, both dropped points, which led them to vacate the positions for Kiboga Central and Kajjere United, both tied on 13 points, but Central is holding a better goal difference of 7, which is 3 better than Kajjere United.
Kiboga Central went top after defeating Katoma United 3-2, while eventual leaders Busakya SC were held by Kambugu Flying Eagles 2-2.
The result dropped Busakya to third place with 11 points, while Kiboga Black Bullets remained with only 10 points, dropping to fourth place.
From the weekend’s results, the league shall commence on Wednesday, February 18, with a rescheduled fixture between Busakya and Kiboga Black Bullets at Gogonya playground.
