At the end of the first round of the 2025-2026 season, Kajjere United continues to make bold statements by ripping big teams in the KDFL. On Sunday, February 22, at Kitete Playground, the rising side picked up a 2-1 victory over Busakya Sports Club.
At halftime, the game remained goalless until the breakthrough arrived just four minutes into the second half when a highly talented and natural leader, Joseph Ssemakula, drove the home team into a lead.
From the time the deadlock was broken, eight minutes later, Ivan Afulu leveled the score for Busakya SC just before Vincent Kikomeko regained the lead for Kajjere United, making it 2-1.
With the win that came as a result of another big win from match day six when they beat Kiboga Black Bullets 3-2 on the road to Kiboga Ssaza ground, Kajjere United rose to 16 points out of a possible 21.
On the other hand, the eventual leaders, Kiboga Central, succumbed to a 3-2 loss to Kambugu Flying Eagles at Kirangira playgrounds, and the result, equally with Kajjere United’s win, put the Kitete-based side on top.
Elsewhere, Kabutemba Devine submitted another shock to Kiboga Black Bullets, beating them 3-2 on Monday, February 23, at Kiboga Ssaza grounds, and Katoma United narrowly defeated Kibiga United 1-0 at Katoma.
