- Park FC 3-5 Lubaga Grameen
From the beginning of last season, Park FC has been the only side that had forgotten how to feel when the game is lost.
After a full year the feel changes to normal after falling to 2022-2023 champions Lubaga Grameen.
Indeed the Grameens was the right candidate to challenge Park FC despite a poor start of the new season following finishing third last season behind winner Park FC and Kisenyi FC.
Beating Park 5-3 on the night of comebacks was fantastic, the crowd went high but the hero was unsung.
In Futsal, it is normal to see high-scoring games but Sahaf Kakande the Lubaga Grameen boy between the sticks refused Park from free scoring.
With over 10 saves on the night, denying Abaasi Muluya not only on one occasion, Michael Abura came in his time as always to kill the game but the 18-year-old boy was watching every movement.
Losing doesn’t mean that Park FC didn’t show up, they were in the game for the entire period but the secondary school student at Vienna High School was always in their way.
Lubaga Grameen bounced back from an early upset when Frank Ssebatta connected into his own net, Park FC captain Shafick Mulangira doubled to have an early 2-0 lead.
From there Lubaga Grameen launched a comeback inspired by Frank Ssebatta and Captain Bruno Ssegirinya goals late in the first stanza to go into the break at 2-2.
A few minutes into the second half, Andrew Kayanga lifted Grameen to lead for the first time but things were not settled yet as Abasi Muluya quickly levelled the score.
With five minutes left, Nasser Semakula helped Grameen regain their lead Following a superb display from Mansoor Kintu to set up the goal before Kintu himself sealed the win for Grameen two minutes before the final whistle.
Between the reported moments was no interval but it was all on Grameen’s goalkeeper making a show from Kakande while on Park FC side goalie Brian Drileba made only 3 saves.
