Kampala City Beach Soccer Club made history after lifting their first-ever FUFA Beach Soccer League title with a 2–0 win over Mutoola BSC in a thrilling final at Bambo Gardens Beach Soccer Arena.
It was a tight contest for most of the game, with both teams creating few clear chances.
The breakthrough came late in the final period when Ambrose Kigozi fired Kampala City ahead. Moments later, Joshua Leti Lubwama doubled the lead to seal the win and spark jubilant celebrations.
The triumph capped a brilliant season for Kampala City, marked by consistency and determination. Mutoola’s impressive campaign ended in heartbreak but earned them a deserving runners-up finish.
In the third-place playoff, St. Lawrence University beat MUBS BSC 2–1 thanks to a brace from Sharif Lubega to claim bronze.
Individual awards highlighted standout performances across the season.
Mutoola’s Peter Mukwata was named Most Valuable Player, Kampala City’s Rogers Omedwa took the Best Goalkeeper Award, and Buganda Royal’s Joseph Ssendi won the Golden Boot with 30 goals.
Kampala City coach Ivan Kulika was voted Coach of the Season, while Mengo Hill BSC earned the Fair Play Award.
The grand finale, attended by FUFA officials led by Uganda Beach Soccer Association Chairman Deo Mutabazi, showcased the growing stature and professionalism of beach soccer in Uganda.
