Kampala City outmuscle St. Lawrence in FUFA Beach Soccer League

The FUFA Beach Soccer League commenced with Kampala City continuing to stand stronger by overpowering direct competitor St. Lawrence University 6-3 at Bamboo Gardens Kasanje on Sunday, November 9.

Sharif Opuuli and Brian Nkuubi both fired in with braces, Ambrose Kigozi and Hassan Luboyera added a goal each to their names.

On St. Lawrence University side, Junior Kagezi, Isaac Ishioke, and Rogers Murunji scored in response, but their efforts remained far below from breaking City’s dominance.

The win came as the second for City in as many games, with the form keeping the rally to defend the league title on the right path.

The league had more games on the same day and venue. MUBS as well maintained their perfect start with a 4-3 win over Buganda Royal.

Brian Katete was among the scorers with a goal which raised him on the joint top scorers list with 3 goals.

In another game, Muteesa I won their first game in over 8 years, beating Grace Church 5-0.

Hakim Masanso scored twice, Denis Reagan, Reagan Kawooya continued with their scoring touch, while Timothy Kato opened his account too.

On the same note, Oscar Ssendege was the star of the day with a hat trick he scored for Mutoola Beach Soccer Club in a 6-3 win over Mengo Hill.

Paul Nsenge added a brace, and Edward Kafeero completed the score for Mutoola, while Andrew Luweta, with a brace, and Salim Mugerwa scored for Mengo Hill.
