Kampala City win first ever Beach Soccer League title

Kampala City defeated Mutoola Beach Soccer Club 2-0 to win first ever Beach Soccer Super League title.

In the game played at Bamboo Gardens in Kasanje on Sunday 29th June, Ambrose Kigozi and Joshua Lubwama Leti scored the goals that decided the title.

The win marked a stop of St Lawrence era of three consecutive trophies launched in 2021 to 2024.

Before winning the final, in the league play off semifinals, Kampala City eliminated defending champions St Lawrence with a 4-3 win.

Baker Lukooya scored twice, Ambrose and Meddie Kibirige added o a goal to their names for Kampala City. Faluku Ssemukutu, Sharif Lubega and Must Ssali scored for St Lawrence.

Earlier Mutoola Beach Soccer Club beat MUBs 6-3 with Steven Nyalimo bagging a hat trick, Paul Nsenge netting and brace and Samson Kirya completing the score for Mutoola while Malik Bingana, Hillary Ayebare and Talib Yokole replying for MUBs with low tone.

Mutoola Beach Soccer Club to reach the final they eliminated regular season winner MUBs with a 2-0 win.

This year, St Lawrence finished third after beating MUBs 2-1 thanks to Sharif Lubega brace, Talib Yakole scored for MUBs.

Reaching the climax of the league, Joseph Sendi of Buganda Royal finished as the league top scorer with 30 goals.

Mutoola Beach SoccerClub’s Peter Mukwata was announced the Most Valuable Player, Kampala City Coach Ivan Kulika naamed Best Coach and Mengo Hill was given the Fair Play Award.
