Kampala Queens’ head coach Asefa Hailegebreal is again in the spotlight as he makes the nominees’ list for the February Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League (FWL) Monthly Awards.
His tactical brilliance was recognized after he led his team to a flawless run on matchdays 12, 13, and 14.
The nomination for Best Coach of the Month pits Asefa against Edward Kasozi of Uganda Martyrs and Ronald Eletu of Olila High School Women FC.

However, what makes Asefa’s case particularly strong is his team’s three wins in three matches, all secured without conceding a single goal.
Kampala Queens, the current league leaders, continued their dominance under Asefa’s leadership. His team’s defensive solidity and attacking prowess were on full display, securing wins in all their games while maintaining a perfect defensive record.
Meanwhile, Edward Kasozi led Uganda Martyrs to two wins in three games, with their only loss coming against Asefa’s Kampala Queens.
On the other hand, Ronald Eletu of Olila High School Women FC guided his side to one win and two draws in the same period.
Alongside the best coach award, the competition for Best Player of the Month is equally intense.
Kampala Queens’ Peace Muduwa finds herself nominated alongside Latifah Nakasi of Uganda Martyrs and Dorcus Lwalisa of Olila HS WFC.
Muduwa played a crucial role in Kampala Queens’ impressive form, scoring key goals against Uganda Martyrs and Makerere University WFC, keeping her team’s perfect record intact.
Her competition includes Latifah Nakasi, who led Uganda Martyrs with goals in their victories over Tooro Queens and She Maroons.
Meanwhile, Dorcus Lwalisa, a standout defender, scored two goals in three games and remains the player with the most Player of the Match awards (five) this season.
The winners of both awards will each receive a trophy and a cash prize of UGX 500,000, an incentive that further boosts competition in the FWL.
The recognition highlights individual and team excellence, rewarding outstanding performances across the league.
As the race for the title intensifies, the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League resumes this weekend with matchday 15 fixtures that will kick off this Saturday, March 22 and go through till Sunday with some interesting games.
