Following the conclusion of the first phase earlier this month, where all 18 teams in the Kampala regional football league played against each other, the league, in demonstration of its three-phase format, kicks off for the second phase this weekend.
On Saturday, February 28, the second phase shall commence with Group 2, comprising the 9 teams that finished in the top half during the first phase, and Group 3, which has the 9 teams that ended the first phase in the bottom half.
During the commencement, teams in Group 2 shall kick off the title chase with four fixtures displayed at different pitches, with Mbogo FC hosting Proline FC at Kawempe Muslim Playground.
During the first round, Proline FC was among the top-performing teams, though Mbogo FC denied them a win, coming from two goals down in the last 10 minutes to draw 2-2 at Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
Police Young FC shall host Edgar’s FC at Kira Road Police, PCCP FC shall host Kisugu United at Kakungulu Memorial, and Born Talent shall host Black Stars at Kyambogo College, while Mutongo FC shall be at rest.
In the drop zone, there will also be four fixtures at different pitches, with Nsambya SC, which was shockingly placed in the bottom half, starting their defense against relegation at home, hosting Water FC at Yes Center.
