Kampala University tipped off their 2025 UG3x3 campaign in style, storming into Mukono and leaving with the circuit title after a tense 21–20 win over Cole World in the men’s final at UCU on Saturday.
The Mukono Circuit, the first stop of this year’s national 3×3 tour, delivered plenty of drama.
Kampala University were made to sweat right from the semifinals, where they edged Pearl Classic 18–17. Cole World also survived a scare, beating Cypher 14–13 to book their place in the final.
The championship match was as intense as expected: fast, physical, and tight from start to finish.
Kampala University held their nerve in the final moments to seal the one-point victory and start the circuit series on top. Mark Ngoobi’s standout performance earned him the Men’s MVP award.
In the women’s category, the Sirens gave the home fans plenty to cheer about, beating The Divas 14–8 in a confident display.
Their star player, Bridget Kawuma, claimed the Ladies MVP after a consistent and dominant run.
The UG3x3 tour now moves to Mbarara on Saturday, November 22.
Winners at each circuit earn UGX 500,000 and automatic qualification to the national finals, set for December 13 in Kampala.
