The 2025 PAU Grand Open Championship concluded with four deserving champions across the Men’s, Ladies’, Masters’, and Juniors’ categories.

In the Men’s Category, Seed 1 and Pool King, Joseph Kasozi, lived up to his reputation, delivering a masterclass performance at Grafton Arms Tavern, Fort Portal City.

He faced a formidable challenge from Dan Mubiru in the final, but ultimately prevailed with a decisive 7-3 victory over the weekend.

The battle for third place saw Glorious Ssenyonjo clinch the spot, while Ceasar Chandiga rounded out the top four.

Rashida Mutesi Takes the Queen’s Crown

The Ladies’ Category witnessed a captivating final between national team player Rashida Mutesi and Julie Namuhanga.

Mutesi showcased her skill and composure, securing the championship title with a 5-2 win.

Rukia Naiga and Rosette Kirabo delivered strong performances, earning themselves third and fourth place, respectively.

Miti Wins Inaugural Masters’ Category

The inaugural Masters’ Category provided a platform for seasoned players to shine, with Dauda Miti emerging victorious, etching his name in the history books.

He defeated Kinyangwa Ezekiel 4-1 in the final. Kevin Kato and Kasim Seguya completed the top four, demonstrating the depth of experience in the category.

History was also made in the Juniors’ Category, as Junior Asiku became the first-ever junior champion, thanks to a 5-2 victory over Jonathan Ntwali.

Yahaya Mpindi and Drake Kayanja Wasswa also delivered commendable performances, securing third and fourth places, to underscore the bright future of the sport.
