Kawempe Cycling Club is gearing up for its year-end bike race, with a portion of the proceeds going towards supporting the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC).
The race, scheduled for Sunday, December 17, 2024, will feature both male and female categories. The 120km male race and 60km female race will start at Gaz Fuel Station in Kanyanya and finish at Ttula-Kilokole.
Cyclists can register for the race from December 14th to 16th, 2024 at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. The individual registration fee is 20,000 shillings, and the team registration fee (for six cyclists) is 100,000 shillings.
Half of the registration fees will be donated to UWEC to support animal care and conservation efforts. This initiative aligns with the club’s commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
Top Ugandan cyclists, including Aziz Ssempijja, Kintu Bucho, Khalid Mukuswabu, Mukisa Salak, and Mutebi Mahadi, are expected to compete for top honors.
The Launch held on 31 October 2024 at Akamwesi Mall attracted Samuel Muwonge Mahaba the chairperson Uganda Cycling Association as the chief guest.
