Kawempe Muslim WFC secured a vital 2-0 victory over Wakiso Hill in the Women Super League on Sunday. The match was held at the Kawempe Muslim Grounds.
The win lifts Kawempe Muslim to second place on the league table with 28 points, just six points behind leaders Kampala Queens.
The hosts wasted no time in taking control of the match, with Adong Meble scoring in the 5th minute through a header from Samalie Nakacwa’s corner.

Despite several missed chances, including a close-range tap-in by Esther Nangendo, Kawempe maintained dominance.
The lead was doubled in the 35th minute when Jovia Nakagolo netted her first goal for the club, securing a 2-0 advantage.
Wakiso Hill struggled defensively, and although they made efforts to defend, including a goal line clearance by Judith Mawuwa, they were unable to stop Kawempe’s attacking play.
Despite a promising counterattack in the second half, where Wakiso Hill failed to capitalize, goalkeeper Sarah Nakintu’s crucial saves prevented a heavier defeat.
Wakiso Hill, currently bottom of the league with just 5 points from 14 games, faced setbacks with the absence of key players.
Coach Frank Mulindwa admitted that there is still much to fix within the team but vowed a strong response, particularly against Kampala Queens in their next fixture.
He highlighted the versatility of Faridah Namirimu, who was deployed in an attacking role, as a key player for the future.
Kawempe Muslim’s coach, Ayub Khalifah, emphasized the need for consistency as the season progresses and stressed the importance of managing the squad during Ramadan.
Despite his concerns over the national team’s refusal to release some players, he remained optimistic about their future fixtures, especially with Shakirah Nyinagahirwa returning to full fitness.
In the next game, Kawempe Muslim will look to maintain their momentum in their pursuit of the title while Wakiso Hill faces a challenging battle to stay out of the relegation zone.
The gap between Kawempe Muslim and the leaders, Kampala Queens, remains significant, but the result was a step in the right direction for the team’s title hopes.
