Agnes Nabukenya once again proved to be the club’s best player this season when she netted the winner in the 48th minute, restoring Kawempe’s lead.
Fifteen minutes later, Hadijah Nandago missed a golden opportunity to stretch the lead however, the visitors maintained their slim lead up to the end of the game and grabbed maximum points.
A collision between Kawempe’s Jolly Kobusinge and UCU’s Catherine Nakiridde resulted in Kobusinge being taken to the hospital for further evaluation
What the result means
The win extends Kawempe’s lead at the top of the table to eight points over Kampala Queens. However, the Queens of soccer have two games in hand.

Kawempe turn their attention to Wakiso Hill WFC, who they face away on Saturday, April 27th. UCU Lady Cardinals host Uganda Martyrs on the same day.
Agnes Nabukenya remains the league’s leading scorer with nine goals, one ahead of She Maroons’ Jackline Odong, who has a chance to catch up on Sunday.
