Former Seed One Ibrahim`Musilamu‘ Kayanja rose Uganda’s flag high when he won the 2024 Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) end-of-year championship in Kansanga.
In what one could label the best final that has happened in Uganda for a while, Kayanja managed an electrifying display to come out on top beating Zambian International Kelvin ‘FIKOTI’ Nkandu.
The action-packed final started with Kelvin Nkandu leading 3-1 only for Kayanja to give the home crowd partial hope, coming from 3-1 down to lead 7-4.
However, it didn’t stop there as Kelvin brought the “lion” in him to level matters at 7-7 but Kayanja kept his composure though at that moment.
Despite every fan thinking the championship was going to Zambia, Kayanja delivered what they demanded which was a victory at home with a 9-7 win.
Before the final, Kayanja Ibra overcame the current Seed One Chandiga Ceasar, Ssejemba Ibrahim, Kazibwe Ian and Kelvin Nkandu on day two of the championship.
The tournament held in Kansanga had two Zambian top shooters Kelvin ‘FIKOTI’ Nkandu and Moses Mofya who came and camped for two months in the Pearl Of Africa.
The two Zambians had the pleasure of participating in one of the prestigious Pool Association of Uganda end-of-year championships, Nkandu displaying beautiful Pool and eventually reaching the final.
Speaking to Kelvin after the final, he said they are still in Uganda till February 2025.
In the ladies’ category, Naiga Rukia took home the top spot after beating her sister Mutesi Rashida in the final.
Nimusiima Ritah came in as third over and the 2024 national open champion who doubles as the pool queen Kisakye Marion managed the fourth position.
