  • Lugazi FC 0-1 SC Villa
  • BUL FC 7-0 Total FC

KCCA FC put on a commanding display under the floodlights at the Phillip Omondi Stadium on Tuesday evening, comfortably defeating Rwenzori Lions 4-0 to secure their place in the Uganda Cup quarterfinals.

The hosts wasted no time asserting their dominance, with James Mubezi opening the scoring in the 8th minute. A well-delivered corner from Usama Arafat found Bright Anukani, who flicked the ball on, allowing Mubezi to tap in from close range.

After a relatively quiet remainder of the first half, KCCA turned up the intensity after the break. Just after the hour mark, Sadat Anaku doubled the lead with a clinical finish, putting further distance between the two sides.

Mubezi, enjoying a stellar night, struck again in the 68th minute, rifling home his second goal of the match, only his second ever for the club, cementing his role in KCCA’s dominant performance.

In stoppage time, Ettiene Openga Katenga sealed the victory in style. The forward pounced on a defensive lapse, stealing possession from a Rwenzori Lions defender before driving forward and slotting home to wrap up a perfect night for the Kasasiro Boys.

With this emphatic win, KCCA joins SC Villa, Kitara, BUL FC, and Police FC in the quarterfinals of the 51st edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, a tournament co-sponsored by Plascon Uganda and continues to provide a stage for young talent to shine.

Elsewhere, SC Villa edged Lugazi 1-0, while BUL FC delivered a statement victory, thrashing Total FC 7-0 to book their own quarterfinal spot.
