KCCA FC coach Sergio Traguil has urged his players to step up after the club lost its Uganda Premier League opener to BUL 1-0 on Saturday.
Traguil said that his side failed to take its chances and made mistakes in defense, which led to the defeat.
“We didn’t take the chances we created,” Traguil said.
“We also made mistakes in defense again. We conceded a similar goal against Abu Salem in the CAF Confederation Cup. We have to work hard. We need to achieve more.”
Traguil added that he could not criticize any individual player, as the team played well overall.
However, he did say that there were areas where the team could improve, particularly in the striking force.
KCCA also lost 3-1 to Libyan side Abu Salem in the first leg of the second round of the CAF Champions League a week ago.
The two sides will face off again at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Saturday, and Traguil believes that his team can do better.
“Now we shift to Abu Salem, it’s a different competition and we need to step up,” Traguil said.
“There is a lot we have to do if we are qualify.”
