KCCA FC coach Sergio Traguil has tasked his players to take up the responsibility as they face Kitara in their fourth Uganda Premier League game on Friday.

KCCA are yet to win a game this season, having lost all three of their opening matches. Traguil has rallied his players that they need to fight for the Club badge.

“It’s time to step up and bring the responsibility to ourselves to change things. We have to show that this is a big club in Uganda.”

“There is no any kind of result apart from winning. We have tried to rectify our mistakes. We are ready and we have to win,” said Traguil.

KCCA will be without a number of key players for the game against Kitara, including goalkeeper Derrick Ochan, Moses Waiswa, and captain Julius Poloto.

However, new signing Emmanuel Loki is set to make his debut for the club.

Kitara’s flying start

Kitara have made an excellent start to the season, winning all their opening three games. Coach Brian Ssenyondo has warned his players not to get complacent, however.

“We are not going to get excited at this moment of the season because there is a lot to improve, three games don’t make us champions.”

“We are work in progress and the players know that this is not the time to relax but rather to remain calm and focused. It’s a process that needs patience,” said Ssenyondo.

“We have 26 games to go and they must understand that remaining humble and teamwork is what is important.”

“There are so much expectations from the team but my players know our long term objective and we shall handle a game at a time.”

KCCA thrashed Kitara 6-2 in their last meeting in 2021, but Ssenyondo believes that the two teams are now evenly matched.

“It is a really big game. The difference between us and them is nine points, but the reality is both teams have top quality and ambitions,” he said.

Kitara won’t be with Dudu Ramadhan and Jamil Kiyimba who are still nursing an injury and attending to family matters respectively.

Brain Aheebwa, Solomon Okwalinga and Paul Mucureezi are all former players of KCCA and will have a chance to face their former side.
