KCCA FC, seeking to arrest their most recent slide, will host Soltilo Bright Stars at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday, December 12th, in the Ugandan Premier League.

Fresh off a 2-1 defeat to Mbarara City, KCCA are desperate to return to winning ways. Coach Abdullah Mubiru expressed his team’s preparedness for a tough battle:

“We’ve prepared well and expect a strong performance. The players are working hard and cooperating with the technical team. We need to boost their confidence and continue performing.”

Despite acknowledging the team’s inconsistency, Mubiru remains optimistic: “We are still struggling for consistency, but three points are our priority. Everyone is positive, and we can manage the situation. We will get results.”

“Things aren’t going smoothly, but we must work hard. We are not a small team, and we should not worry about Bright Stars. We need to improve our performance. We know they are a good team.”

In their last meeting KCCA was dominant thrashing Bright Stars 5-0 at Lugogo on the last matchday of the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League season.

The Cityzens welcome back defenders Peter Magambo and Mustafa Mujuzi from injuries, while Hassan Mubiru and Ashraf Mugume miss out due to injury.

Meanwhile, Soltilo Bright Stars enter the game on a five-game unbeaten streak. Their coach, Joseph Mutyaba, is confident of his team’s ability:

“We know it won’t be easy, but we are prepared for them. We have to be cautious since KCCA have not been performing well lately.”

Currently in 11th position with 11 points, Bright Stars hold a four-point advantage over second-from-bottom KCCA. BUL leads the table with 26 points.

Elsewhere in the league, 4th placed Kitara host Express in Masindi.

Both sides are suffering a dip in form with the Royals picking four points out of a possible fifteen while the Red Eagles are winless in six outings.
