KCCA FC is set to appoint Jackson Magera as interim head coach following the dismissal of Sergio Traguil.

The club’s board of directors made the decision on Monday, after six of nine members voted to terminate Traguil’s two-year contract.

Traguil will reportedly leave the club with his assistants, Luis Manuel Correira Guerreiro and Eduardo Lazaro Ramon Leiva. Magera is expected to appoint his own technical team in the coming days.

KCCA has had its poorest start to the season in recent memory, failing to win any of its first four matches.

The club is currently second from bottom in the Uganda Premier League table with no points.

KCCA was also eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup in the preliminary round by Libyan side Abu Salem.

Traguil has been criticized for his team selection and for failing to handle dressing room issues.

Last week, he suspended two senior players, Derrick Ochan and Moses Waiswa, for undisclosed reasons.

Magera is a former SC Villa head coach and has also served as an assistant coach at KCCA in the past.

He is a well-respected coach in Ugandan football and is known for his attacking style of play.

KCCA fans will be hoping that Magera can turn the club’s fortunes around and guide them to a successful season.
