KCCA FC’s hopes of a resurgence were dashed as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Busoga United in a nail-biting match held at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, Buikwe district.
The match marked the debut of Abdullah Mubiru as KCCA FC’s new head coach, and it was a baptism of fire for the experienced tactician.
This was a significant setback for KCCA FC, as it marked their sixth loss in eight games and kept them firmly rooted in the relegation zone.

The game was a tense affair from the start, with both teams determined to secure a vital victory. KCCA FC took the lead in the 27th minute through a goal from teenager Dominic Ayella.
However, their joy was short-lived as Ronald Kasamba equalized for Busoga United just five minutes later following sloppy defending of a corner by the guests.
The second half was equally enthralling, with both teams creating numerous scoring opportunities. However, neither side could capitalize on their chances until the final ten minutes of the match.

With darkness descending upon the stadium, making it difficult for players to see the ball, the game took on a dramatic turn.
In the dying minutes of the match, Busoga United struck a decisive blow. With just a minute remaining, Emmanuel Ajo scored the winning goal for the hosts, sending shockwaves through the KCCA FC camp.
This was Busoga United’s first victory against KCCA FC in 14 encounters, having previously lost 10 and drawn three times.
The defeat leaves KCCA FC in 15th position, just two points above the bottom of the table. They will now look to bounce back when they host Gaddafi FC at Lugogo in their next match.
