KCCA FC have made their first move in the transfer window with the signing of striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who joins on a free transfer after his contract with URA FC expired.

The 28-year-old, known as “The Hunter” for his clinical finishing, was unveiled on Tuesday, July 1, via the club’s social media platforms.

“Hello Citizens! My name is Ivan Ahimbisibwe, the Hunter, and I can’t wait to get started,” he said in a short welcome video.

Ahimbisibwe brings firepower to a KCCA side that struggled in front of goal last season, particularly after parting ways with forward Shaban Muhammad. His arrival is seen as a key step in revitalizing the team’s attack.

The striker scored 16 goals last season for URA, finishing just three behind golden boot winner Allan Okello. His consistent form and ability to find space in the box made him one of the league’s most dangerous forwards.

Ahimbisibwe’s career has been a steady climb from Synergy FC to Nyamityobora, then a breakout spell at UPDF FC, where his performances earned him a move to URA in 2023.

At KCCA, he reunites with coach Brian Ssenyondo, who previously worked with him at both Synergy and UPDF.

KCCA believe that familiarity and timing make this reunion ideal. The club hopes Ssenyondo can help Ahimbisibwe reach new heights at Lugogo.
