KCCA FC coach Abdullah Mubiru believes the poor state of Kakyeka stadium contributed to their 2-1 loss to Mbarara City in the Uganda Premier League on Wednesday.
“FUFA and Uganda Premier League I kindly request you to act, we can’t play on such pitch. It affects the image and brand of the league. There is no way we could play on this surface. But we are going back and try see that we improve as we prepare for the next game,” noted Mubiru.
This was Mubiru’s second defeat in the three games he has been in charge ever since replacing Sergio Traguil.

Indeed KCCA FC had to make early substitutions of Etienne Katenga and Carlos Da Silva Gui as the duo failed to operate on the soaked bumpy surface.

Aside from the pitch KCCA FC didn’t defend well especially the first goal they conceded through Sadat Nsubuga who cancelled out midfielder Ashraf Mugume‘s goal that had given the visitors lead.
They will also feel undone after assistant referee Ashraf Magoola seemingly failed to notice that Henry Kitegenyi was offside before the forward went on to give City the lead, who also had their coach Wasswa Bbosa sent off by referee Henry Musisi.
But his assistant Zaidi Byekwaso revealed the win was a big motivation to the players.
“Previously we have not been performing well but this victory has motivated us to perform better. We shall try to see that we do better in the next games,” noted Byekwaso.

At Lugogo, marauding full backs Joseph Dhata and Rashid Okocha were impressive as NEC dominated URA from start to finish, winning 2-0.
Dhata gave NEC the lead in the first half before his compatriot Okocha’s sublime cross was expertly tucked home by striker Cromwell Rwothomio to put the game to bed.
In Njeru, Busoga United played to 1-all draw against Maroons at FUFA Technical Centre in Buikwe district. Bashum Mugwa scored for Busoga United while Abraham Tusubira levelled matters for Maroons.
