In the final regular season match in the Women’s National Basketball League, KIU Rangers and KCCA Leopards will battle it out for a third-place finish, at YMCA on Wednesday.
With KCCA’s coach Ali Mavita out of the country due to her engagements with Uganda’s U17 team (Junior Gazelles) for the Afrobasket for the previous week, the game which was scheduled for Sunday was pushed days further.
This will also be a tussle between the two coaches of the Junior Gazelles.
While KCCA’s Mavita is head coach, Ronald Sserunyigo (KIU) is her assistant. To further contextualize what huge a match it is, the former replaced the latter for KCCA’s seat!
Both on a 13-4 record, the victor in this highly anticipated encounter will take up third and fourth place respectively.
It is important to note that Nkumba Marines and A1 Challenge were relegated, leaving the remaining eight teams all set for playoffs.
