Ambrose Kigozi is not a man content with what he has already achieved. Even after deciding a tense Friday night contest under the Lugogo lights, his focus was firmly on what comes next.
His lone strike handed Entebbe UPPC a hard-fought 1–0 victory over KCCA FC at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, a result that pushed the newcomers up to second place on the Uganda Premier League table with 30 points.
It also gave head coach Abdallah Mubiru bragging rights against his former club.
The match itself offered few clear chances, demanding patience and discipline. When Kigozi’s moment came, he stayed calm and took it.
That single touch proved enough to settle the contest and cap another impressive chapter in Entebbe UPPC’s first season back in the top flight.
After the final whistle, Kigozi struck a reflective tone, quick to credit those around him.

“I thank God, my coaches and my teammates for the effort,” he said. “I got one chance and I tried to use it. I’m happy, but all thanks go to God.”
The goal took him to eight in 15 first-round matches, a strong return for a promoted side. For Kigozi, however, it was no surprise.
“I had a target of eight goals in the first round, and I achieved it,” he explained. “That was my plan.”
What followed was even more striking. With the second round ahead, Kigozi has already raised his expectations.
“I want to reach double figures,” he said, before adding with conviction: “Seventeen goals and above. I know I’ll make it.”
It is a bold statement, but one that matches his form. Kigozi’s goals have fueled Entebbe UPPC’s momentum, turning them from survival hopefuls into genuine contenders despite the forward insisting that they are looking at top four.
