A dazzling bowling display by Leon Kigozi and Allan Ssemakula helped KC Budo Cricket Club cruise to a commanding six-wicket victory over Patidar CC in a Division Two Championship clash on Sunday at the Florida Oval.

After winning the toss, Patidar chose to bat, but their innings crumbled under pressure from Budo’s relentless bowling. Leon Kigozi was nearly unplayable, claiming 5 wickets for just 23 runs in his 8 overs.

Allan Ssemakula was equally lethal, picking 4 for 24 as Patidar were bowled out for a paltry 89 runs in 27.2 overs.

Only Chirag Patel (26) offered any resistance with the bat, as wickets fell in quick succession. From 43/2, Patidar collapsed to 89 all out, losing 8 wickets for just 46 runs.

Budo made light work of the chase despite some early hiccups. Victor Aroma’s quickfire 26 off 18 balls, including three sixes, set the tone.

Ssemakula chipped in with 19 runs, before Nyumba Andrew sealed the win in style, smashing an unbeaten 33 off 20 balls as Budo reached 95/4 in just 11.4 overs.

Patidar’s bowlers struggled to contain Budo’s aggressive batting. Rushik Ghodadara was the pick with 2 wickets, while Chirag and Naimesh Patel took one each.

Elsewhere, GM Sugar Cricket Club put on a batting masterclass, thrashing Mukono Development by a staggering 252 runs at the GM Sugar Oval.


The fixture between Jinja SS CC and Entale CC was forfeited, with Jinja SS awarded the win at Jinja SSS Cricket Oval.
