Kisenyi FC defeated Crown Lubiri 8-4 in the final that featured both good and bad scenes played on Friday, 23rd May 2025 at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Justus Ssempijja, who came on after ten minutes, replacing Ibrahim Azabo, dominated the day with four goals and provided two assists.
Ssempijja opened the scoring two minutes after his introduction, but Crown Lubiri, who still had good nerves, replied through Abdul Shakur Hamud AbdulKadri.
With four minutes left of the first half, Ssempijja restored the lead for Kisenyi FC, welcoming the gift from Crown Lubiri goalie Ashraf Maseruka, but again, Crown Lubiri levelled through Muhammad Muhammud just 4 seconds before the halftime break.
Returning for the second half with the game all square, Ssempijja again restored the lead to 3-2 via another poor look from Maseruka in the 22nd minute, which is two minutes from the restart.
A minute later, AbdulKadri Sanchez extended the lead to 4-2 but it took 9 minutes for Crown Lubiri to pull another goal back through Muhammad Sharif, who scored from a rebound after a penalty taken by Muhammud.
A minute after the moment, Bashir Waleed, who has been lifting Kisenyi FC throughout the season, scored to take the game to 5-3.
There after Kisenyi FC got a penalty missed by Sanchez and a few seconds after, Kisenyi FC got another Penalty came with a red card to Muhammud but Justus missed them penalty.
Two minutes later, both teams scored inside one minute as Ssempijja found his 4th while Muhammad Hassan pulled another goal, making the game 6-4.
Later, Crown got a chance to reduce Kisenyi’s lead to 6-5, but Hamud missed a penalty, forcing the effort over the goal, resulting Sanchez extending the lead to 7-4 in favour of Kisenyi.
In the 36th minute, with the clock counting four minutes to play, Waleed scored from a penalty to make the game 8-4.
In the same minute, Muhammad Sharif of Crown Lubiri became the second player to be sent off. While walking off, he couldn’t tolerate the mockery from Kisenyi fans, which forced him to jump into them to cause a fight that took over 5 minutes.
After the incident, two more red cards were shown to Abdul Shakur Hamud AbdulKadri of Kisenyi and Bashir Waleed of Crown Lubiri, causing Crown Lubiri down to 3 players up to the second last minute while Kisenyi played with four men in the same period.
In the last minute, teams got back to 5 men but the game was already done, giving Kisenyi FC lightning up their chance to lift the Futsal Cup double as they look to overcome another double chaser, Mengo City, in the Uganda Cup final on May 30th.
Lifting the trophy, Kisenyi FC led Group B after commanding teams like Kabowa Dream Team and Nansana Aka. In the Quarterfinal, Kisenyi eliminated Edgar’s Youth Program and stopped Mengo City in the semifinal.
