Kitara FC will be seeking to regain their winning form when they host NEC at Masindi Stadium in the Uganda Premier League on Saturday at 4PM.
The Royals have struggled in their recent outings, failing to secure a victory in their last three matches. They succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against BUL , 1-0 loss to Maroons but salvaged a point in the 2-2 draw with URA.
Coach Brian Ssenyondo believes his team has learned from their mistakes and is ready to bounce back.
“We had one of our weakest performances since the start of the season, managing to pick up just one point from a possible nine. However, we have learned valuable lessons that we hope to apply in our upcoming match against NEC,” remarked Ssenyondo.
Team captain Maxwell Owachigiu acknowledges the challenge ahead and has urged his teammates to rise to the occasion.
“It’s our duty as players to respond positively. We owe our fans a better performance, and we must make a good account of ourselves on the pitch. Everyone must have the right attitude and determination to get maximum points,” stated Owachigiu.

Both Kitara and NEC currently sit on 16 points, occupying third and fourth positions respectively, with Kitara holding a superior goal difference.
NEC has demonstrated impressive form away from home, winning three of their last four away matches. Coach Hussein Mbalangu is confident in his team’s ability to continue this trend.
“We are prepared for the game. We aim to secure positive results. We recognize that Kitara is a formidable opponent, but we are determined to give our all in this match,” asserted Mbalangu.
