Kitara FC has a golden opportunity to climb to second place in the Ugandan Premier League when they take on Mbarara City at Kakyeka Stadium on Wednesday at 4:00PM.
The Royals, currently sitting third with 22 points, trail leaders BUL and second-placed Vipers by four and two points respectively. BUL and Vipers face off on Friday and Kitara are eager to capitalize on this opportunity to secure a crucial victory.
Riding the momentum of their recent 1-0 win over Express, Kitara coach Brian Ssenyondo is confident his team is ready for the battle.
“It’s a difficult place for any visiting team to pick points as they have made it a fortress but we shall give everything,”

Mbarara City, however, are determined to bounce back after a 1-1 draw with UPDF.
Coach Wasswa Bbosa has challenged his players to step up to the task. “We need to be at our best at home if we want to compete,” he emphasized. “It won’t be easy, but we’ll fight hard and utilize the home advantage.”
The clash will see coach Brian Ssenyondo, Kitara players Jude Ssemugabi, Solomon Okwalinga, Jasper Aheebwa and Paul Mucureezi among others face their former side in the Western Uganda derby.
Elsewhere in the league, bottom side Arua Hill will seek all three points when they host 6th placed Maroons at Paridi Stadium in Adjumani.
The Kongolo will be wary of the visitors’ good performance on the road this season, where they have only lost once, to table leaders BUL.
